1st Camp-out of the summer!

As you may know from a previous post that we LOVE being outside especially in the mountains. So the first weekend that we could we went CAMPING!

We found an awesome spot up the canyon that was right by the river. It was so quiet and nice.

 We decided to take a walk further up the canyon and it ended up being a two hour hike. We love exploring.

We are super excited that it is finally summer so that we can do some of our favorite activities. I will have to post later about our memorial day hike with my family and Kyle's mom. Hope everyone has some fun summer plans!!!!

Ewert-isms: The Arts

Ewert-ism #2: Kyle and I love art and music! 

Kyle is quite the artist, he draws very often. It is his way of relaxing. I love showing off his art to people when they come by. He loves animals (another post to come about that) so a lot of his drawings include animals. We love going to museums and art shows together. I am not good at art at all, but I appreciate other's awesome talent!

Kyle and I both love music as well! We are constantly listening to music around the house and in the car. We love going to concerts of all different types of music. Sometimes I laugh because I will get in the car after Kyle and he will be listening to country one day and 80's rock the next. I love that he loves it all. I play the viola and have sung all my life and Kyle learned the piano when he was young and is now going to learn the guitar. When I play in orchestra Kyle is always my biggest fan and invites everyone to come! 

I love that we share that interest and have fun checking out the awesome arts around us!

Ewert-isms: Being outside.

For birth mothers to get to know us I am going to write Ewert-ism posts to show a little more about who we are and what we like.
Ewert-ism #1: Being outside.
So we love most things outdoors. Hiking, picnicking, biking, walking/running, rollerblading, bonfires, fishing, sports, camping, swimming, sledding. During the summer on our days off we spend almost all day outside. Yesterday we were off together and it was the first beautiful day of the year so we took advantage for sure. We went for a long bike ride and then when we got home took off for a drive up the canyon. We were babysitting our nephew in the evening and we went for another bike ride to the park where we played for a while. We ended the day with a mini BBQ feast! It was so nice to be in the sunshine all day.
I'm sure you will see a lot of evidence on this blog of our outdoor love in the future summer months!
