After weeks of planning we finally had the Yard/Bake Sale!!!!!
It was incredible how much help and support we had from our friends and family, there were even people who didn't personally know us who helped out! It was amazing how busy the sale was both days and it was great to see a lot of people we don't get to see very often come by!!!!
It was so cold because of the wind the first day, but it didn't stop people from coming. We had people come before the sun was up. It was so busy for the first half of the day that we had to help multiple people at the same time! By the end of the first day we had already met our goal!
Lizzy had jumped in the clothes and decided it was a pretty comfy seat for a while. She is so cute!!
Saturday it was a lot warmer and not very windy so it was a lot more comfortable to hang out at the sale. The morning started out slow and all of the big ticket items were already sold so we had lower expectations for the day. Boy were we wrong! The afternoon was crazy busy and most of our family and friends came this day we had SO much fun visiting with everyone.
We were so glad that several people brought things to replenish the sale Saturday. I was starting to think it was going to be pretty lame for everyone, but it was just as awesome!!
This is one of the signs we used for our adoption pictures we took on Thursday afternoon. Pictures soon to come!
One of my favorite visitors was a random lady that just saw the sale and stopped. We started talking and she told me that she was a birth mother. She was so special and loving. She talked all about her experience with adoption.
Her name was Dianne. We were instant friends! She talked about how much she loves her baby and his family. Back when she gave her baby there was no option for open adoption and she said that she really wishes she could know that her child is doing well. She said that she knows 100% that the decision she made was right and that the baby was not spiritually her own. I gained so much respect for birth mothers out there and what they go through to give their baby a good life. It really is all about love. We sat and talked and cried for a half hour together and I know that it was meant to be that she stopped by. I'm so sad that I didn't get her number, but I do know I will remember her forever!
This is the only picture we ended up taking of the two of us so I had to post it. (Kyle didn't want me to post it because he didn't like his face. Don't mind it he was in a lot of pain because of his foot surgery, but he was such a trooper the whole weekend!) We had so much fun both days selling and bartering with all the customers! Kyle was so good at helping everyone out, but he called me the boss when it came down to prices for the big things (it made everyone laugh).
We are so grateful for all of the support and love we have been shown from our family, friends and even strangers. There were many people throughout both days who commented on the spirit they felt and how they know there is a baby for us out there. I'm so glad to know that others can feel what Kyle and I do! There were several people including the birth mom Dianne who said that they think our baby is a GIRL! Either way we are so excited and emotional about it all!!
A special thank you to everyone who donated items to the yard sale and bake sale!! We couldn't have done it without any of you!!!!!
